Update + Hello from the road!

Good evening from Boulder, CO!

Just sitting here on the bus, post show thinking about how radical life is.

Tour has been flying by, I can’t believe we only have 10 shows left on the #cityandsandtour:

11/28 - Knitting Factory. Boise, ID
11/29 - Knitting Factory. Spokane, WA
11/30 - The Neptune. Seattle, WA
12/02 - The Fillmore. San Francisco, CA
12/03 - City Winery. Napa, CA
12/05 - The Catalyst. Santa Cruz, CA
12/06 - Majestic Ventura Theatre. Ventura, CA
12/07 - House Of Blues. San Diego, CA
12/09 - El Rey. Los Angeles, CA
12/10 - Observatory. Santa Ana, CA

We started in Boston back on October 27th and here we are…cruising right along. I have been enjoying this tour so much. Eric and his crew are the nicest, most kindest guys ever. Our tour managers are working their booties off, while me + my dudes are having a blast rocking out every night. Sometimes “lite rocking”, but nonetheless we are rocking.

I’ve really enjoyed playing these new songs from my new EP: Back To Home. The band and I have been slowly learning them all, but so far having fun with: Waves, Open Up Your Eyes, Casualty and hopefully soon Back To Home. I’ve also been working up a cool rendition of Perfect Storm on the Ukulele, so that’s super fun. I am a pretty horrible ukulele player at the moment, but practice makes perfect, right?

Tomorrow we have a day off for Thanksgiving and I hope to be spending it in a warm hot tub, with a cup of hot cocoa in my hand. None of us get to fly home to be with our family when we are on the road. We give thanks from whatever corner of the world we may be in, have a big tour family dinner, kick back and relax. I have spent so many holidays on the road, it feels normal by now, I kinda like it. Random cities, the streets are quiet. There’s something cozy about it all. Plus, it makes the Thanksgivings I do get to spend with my family that much more special.

It’s been a very positive adventure so far, being out on the road right now, sharing my music every night. I always trip out that I get to see the country this way, from the windows of a tour bus, or van, just rolling down the road. I always discover something new about a town I have been to 50 times, catch up with old friends, make new fans, eat delicious food, experience the changing of the seasons. I dig it. In fact I think I am having more fun now than I ever have. I was so nervous when I booked this tour. I didn’t know how, or if I could even pull it off. I booked the tour bus, ordered the merch, rallied the band together, made a new EP and managed to get it all done just in the nic-of-time. And here we are, more than halfway through, totally pulling it off. That literally just hit me right now. That’s so wild. F-Yeah! I did it! WE did it! Thanks for all your support always you guys. Seriously, I couldn’t, and never could do this without you. I also gotta give a shout out to my hubby cause he has been the most patient man watching his new bride transition into work/tour/boss lady mode and I know that is not easy. He’s been taking some freaking amazing pics (I’ve been posting on my Instagram @tristanprettyman) I love you honey!

I just wanted to take a minute and send you all some love, I hope you have a most wonderful holiday + hope to see your face at one of the shows soon! I’m at the merch table every night, so come say hi!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Grateful, Happy & Pumpkin Pie

Cheers!
